After a couple of near misses on the internet recently fate stepped in and I was contacted by ExpressVPN alerting me that a new product was about to hit the market. Step in, the ExpressVPN Aircove Go.
The ExpressVPN Aircove Go is a small palm-sized portable router that comes with built-in VPN protection. It can connect via ethernet or via wifi to any internet connection, making it ideal for not only the home, office or even whilst travelling.
So, the big question is, are you concerned about your privacy whilst on the internet? Do you hate ads or being tracked everywhere you go whilst on the net?
If your answer is yes, then perhaps you should check out the Aircove Go.
I will state upfront that I was supplied with the Aircove Go and, as always, you will get my honest opinion on this device and whether or not it something that you should look at. If you want to take a quick look at the ExpressVPN Aircove Go I did a little unboxing that you can find here.
Setting up the Aircove Go
The router comes with an instruction fold out which is easy to follow and you can sign in to the ExpressVPN webpage to follow through on setup and how you want to use the VPN service.
With your subscription (12.95/month) you will be provided with an activation code to assist in this process. I found the whole setup a breeze and because I already have a LAN setup connected via this to the Aircove Go router.
If I didn’t have the LAN I could have setup via wifi. The unit will choose ethernet over wifi regardless because it is quicker.
Once you have the router setup you can adjust via the dashboard on your browser to control devices in your home like PCs (PC or Mac), streaming devices, take care of privacy and even add your smart devices.
Why Aircove Go?
Many of us rely on the internet these days whether it’s at home or in public spaces so the Aircove Go allows you to browse and not put your personal info at risk. Importantly, you can also protect financial transactions such as online banking and other payments.
This small portable device offers VPN protection for all your devices on shared networks and allows you to block trackers, malware, ads and more.
More and more, travellers are hooking up to services such as Starlink and, to me, this is perhaps one of the biggest advantages to potential buyers of the Aircove Go. If you need access in a private network and you’re on holidays or you’re a bit of a digital nomad, the router gives you that protection.
Final Words
The Aircove Go retails at a little over $250 depending on the exchange rate and costs $12.95/month for the subscription for VPN services. How you look at protection of your privacy is how much value you get out of paying for this device.
It’s the world we live in now and I’m not a fan of subscriptions as I’d like a one off cost but companies have to make their money. You can find the Aircove Go on their site or at other sellers like Amazon.
The Aircove Go is easy to setup and use and this is a big plus as many IT devices can be a right pain in the you know where. One of the big advantages is that you can take it with you and get that protection that many of us are starting to seek due to the constant barrage of ads and scammers.
I also like how you can block ads and those tracking cookies. Look into them here if you are interested and as always, any comments let us know.
